Dutch Masters inspired Wedding At The Ebell Of Long Beach

If you’ve ever looked at a Dutch Masters painting and thought, “Yes. That. But make it a wedding.” this one’s for you.

Ebell Long Beach Reception

This November wedding at The Ebell of Long Beach was moody, romantic, dramatic in the best way, and honestly one of those designs that reminds me exactly why I do what I do. Deep jewel tones, rich textures, candlelight for days, and florals that felt like they were pulled straight from a 17th‑century oil painting but elevated, intentional, and very now.

The Vision: Dutch Masters Meets Southern California Romance

The bride came to me with a clear vision: moody jewel tones, Dutch Masters energy, and a dining experience fit for royalty. Think deep oranges, layered greens, rich plums, warm brass accents, and intentional pops of pink all coming together in lush, organic floral designs that felt artful, layered, and timeless. Never stiff. Never trendy for the sake of it.

From the very beginning, I worked hard fine‑tuning color palettes, floral shapes, and overall flow. This wasn’t a “pick from a package and call it a day” situation. This was thoughtful, collaborative, and deeply personal which is exactly how I love to work.

The Venue: The Ebell of Long Beach

If you’re getting married in Southern California and you love historic venues, The Ebell of Long Beach is iconic for a reason. Its romantic Art Deco architecture, warm tones, and old‑world elegance created the perfect backdrop for this design style. The space already has so much character, so the florals were designed to enhance, not compete.

The reception and dining area felt intimate yet grand. Candlelight bounced off rich florals and elegant tablescapes, creating that layered, old‑world glow you can’t fake. It truly felt like stepping into a painting, one where you also get to dance, drink champagne, and eat incredible food.

The Florals: Moody, Artful, and Intentionally Lush

Every arrangement was designed with movement and depth in mind. Nothing overly symmetrical. Nothing cookie‑cutter. Just lush, textural floral designs that felt collected over time.

We leaned into seasonal blooms and a rich color story of deep oranges, greens, plums, reds, bronze tones, and soft pops of pink to create arrangements that felt dramatic without being heavy. Think garden‑inspired shapes, layered tones, and florals that invite you to linger and look a little closer.

This is the kind of design that doesn’t scream, it whispers luxury.

Why This Wedding Was So Special

Beyond the aesthetics (which were stunning, obviously), this wedding was special because of the trust. The bride and her mother allowed me the creative freedom to fully bring this vision to life, and that’s where the magic happens.

As a Long Beach florist and Southern California wedding florist, I take on a limited number of weddings so I can give each one my full attention. I don’t believe in rushing designs or juggling multiple events in a single day. This wedding got the care, time, and intention it deserved, and it showed.

FAQ: Wedding Florist Questions You Were Totally Going to Google Later

Q: When should I book my wedding florist?
A: Ideally, 6–12 months before your wedding. For full-service florals, the sooner the better — especially during peak SoCal wedding season (spring/fall).

Q: Do you offer mock-ups?
A: Yes! Mock-up centerpiece sessions start at $250 and are a great way to preview your design direction, especially if you’re visual and want that extra peace of mind.

Q: What areas do you serve?
A: I’m based in Long Beach but serve all of Southern California: from Los Angeles to Orange County to wine country and beyond.

Q: Do you offer a la carte options?
A: Absolutely! I have a la carte services called Click Click Bloom for couples who want gorgeous flowers without the full-service experience, perfect for elopements or budget-conscious weddings.

Q: What’s your floral style?
A: My style is whimsical, unique, and full of personality, a mix of creative flair and bold romance. I love designing florals that feel magical, meaningful, and totally custom to each couple.

Q: Do you work with specific venues or planners?
A: Yes! I love collaborating with planners and venues across SoCal. If you’re already working with someone, I’m happy to integrate seamlessly into your vendor team.
